Terms and conditions of Rum Up – Win a Cask Cocktail Competition
1. Promoters
This competition is promoted by Blacks Brewing & Distilling (Instagram: @blacksbrewery) in
collaboration with Classic Drinks a Sysco Company, with both parties jointly referred to as the
“Promoters”.
2. Eligibility
● The competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or over and residing in the
Republic of Ireland.
● Employees of the Promoters, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally
associated with this competition are not eligible.
● Every purchase of a 5+1 deal of any flavour of Rum Up grants the applicant an
opportunity to submit a rum up cocktail
● Entry must be an original cocktail but alternations of established cocktails permitted
● To enter, bartenders must create a one-of-a-kind cocktail using any flavour of Rum Up
● Don’t be afraid to get creative – the more unconventional the better – But it must taste
great!
● Let your imagination take flight & become a Flavour Maverick
● To enter, head over to Instagram and include a video or image of the cocktail, plus its
name and specs. Posts must tag @itsrumup Instagram page and use the hashtag
#Rumupwinacask. Entrants also need to tag the business that they are employed by.
Some entries will be shared to the @BlacksBrewery, @itsrumup, @classicdrinksireland
Instagram feed.

3. How to Enter
● To enter, participants must:
1. Purchase a 5+1 of any flavour of Rum Up from www.classicdrinks.com
2. Create and photograph an original cocktail featuring any Flavour of Rum Up
flavoured Rum.
3. 25mls of any Rum Up Flavour must be used
4. Make sure to tag your business.
5. Scoring Criteria – Flavour 10 marks, Presentation 10 marks, Originality 10 marks
– Max Marks 30

● The competition opens on April 28th 2025 and closes 31st of October 2025.
● Instagram Stories are not valid entries; only main feed posts will be counted.

4. Prize
● The winning business will receive a 200L cask of Blacks Irish Whiskey aged in a rum
cask
● Prizes are non-transferable and no cash or alternative prize will be offered.

5. Winner Selection & Notification
● The 4 finalists will be announced via Instagram and contacted through direct message
from @blacksbrewery within 7 days of the competition closing.
● Each venue that qualifies for the final will be able to send the cocktail finalist + one other
member from their businesses to Kinsale for the final.
● The winning cocktail will be selected based on taste, creativity, visual appeal, and
originality, judged by a panel of Industry experts.

6. Use of Entries
● By entering, you grant the Promoters a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your
submitted content (photos, captions, Instagram handle) for marketing and promotional
purposes on social media, websites, and printed materials, with credit where possible.

7. GDPR & Data Protection
● Personal data (e.g., Instagram username, name, contact information) will be processed
lawfully, fairly, and transparently, solely for the administration of the competition and
prize fulfillment.
● Data will be retained only as long as necessary, and will not be shared with third parties,
except for fulfilling delivery or legal requirements.
● Both Promoters act as joint Data Controllers and comply with the General Data
Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act 2018.
● Entrants have the right to:

○ Access or request correction of their personal data
○ Request deletion or restriction of processing
○ Object to processing
○ Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) in Ireland

8. Liability
● The Promoters are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, or not
received due to any technical issue or platform-related problem.
● The Promoters reserve the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the competition if it
becomes necessary to do so due to unforeseen circumstances.

9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be
subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
